It was a
down-right miserable day to be out shooting, but after
the long winter with no shooting, nothing was going to stop us from
shooting our first match. I got there early to paint the targets and
start setting up the course, and Neil arrived right at eight to
help. Pete arrived soon after eight and set up the sight-in range
while Neil and I worked on the match range. A light sprinkle started
about the time we all sat down to practice, and by the time the match
started, the light sprinkle had become a not-so-light sprinkle and soon
became rain. The official total for the morning was just over an inch
and we were all plenty cold and soggy by the time the match was
completed. Neil missed his second shot of the match when it was still
just sprinkling, and then proceeded to hit every target for the rest of
the match for the PCP win. Neil told me that if he's ever shooting
poorly in a match, I have his permission to throw cold water in his
face to see if he can regain this month's mojo. Pete was the only
springer-shooter to tough it out to the end and took home the win in
that division. Mark won the International Class by default, as
Ron is still recovering from shoulder surgery and coudn't make it to
the match. Ron assures us that he will be there for the rest of the
matches, and will also be shooting at 12 ft lbs in anticipation of he
and Mark's trip to England.
