May results—in June? Our scheduled May match was rained out—folks had just gotten their guns dried out from the April match and didn’t want to get them wet again. I called the usual suspects and scheduled an impromptu match to replace the rained-out one. Ron brought a few more targets down, so we now have 15 lanes with two targets per lane. We started early in hopes of beating the rain, which worked out for the most part. There was some sprinkling, but nothing compared to April (that came later while I was out on my bicycle –sigh.) When you eliminate the shivering and fogged and wet scopes, our scores have a tendency to take a jump.  The course that Ron had set a couple of weeks ago was quite interesting, and the grass that hadn’t been mowed made it more so. Instead of being the ‘gimme’ that he was last year, Barney the dinosaur was one of the hardest shots on the course. He’s now ten feet up in a tree and out about 45 yards with a whole lot of untrimmed branches between he and the shooter’s box. It took me five tries to get my butt placed so I had a tiny clear path to the kill zone. Garfield was acting up again, so I gave everyone two points on that target. Ron really lucked out, because when he took his shots at the target, he was a turn off and would have dropped two points. I don’t know why Ron got the luck - I was the one who found two four-leaf clovers. I did buy a Powerball ticket on the way home though...
